Best Man

Daniel Ekehrumeh Aduodeh

Hilary Anibowei a.k.a. Hile, Hile moi, Hero Hile, BoweiZo, Smartylala, etc. Hilary has been called lots of names but I call him Bowei, simply Bowei. Our brotherhood dates back into the 90’s in the prestigious Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. For some reason ordained by the heavens Bowei and I lived on the same street, had all things in common; I could literally walk into his house even in his absence and make myself very comfortable and vice versa. Our brotherhood united our families, in the real sense we could be likened to the biblical Jonathan and David because where Bowei was I was and if anybody was looking for Bowei there was one person to ask; it’s pretty obvious. We were so close like Starsky and Hutch, even the Blues Brother had nothing on us. We wore the same clothing like twins who broke the matrix on the same day. However, Bowei is my younger brother despite the fact he fights me on that but five months isn’t a joke…lol. Bowei is a quintessential gentleman, has always been. Neatness is his thing, perfection his game. His room was never untidy, his clothes clean and crisp, his cologne never lacking. Always had an eye for the big things even the belle’s (okay lets live the past buried lol).  Hmmm, how could I forget, I am yet to meet another man who cooks up a storm like Bowei; the kitchen, one of his forte’s. A hard worker; even when schools were on holidays and all others were having fun we worked during the holidays in a poultry not necessarily for the money but for the experience. The only thing that made me bow my knees in prayers for my brother was the issue which now is no longer an issue as my brother has found and favor now is his. Although my paths has never crossed that of Jessica, I need not fret because anybody my brother calls wife is wife indeed for he took his time to seek for a befitting jewel on his diadem.  My prayer to the God of all flesh is that He would bring a supernatural joining: sinews upon sinews, blood in blood, bone upon bone and life in life that truly it would be fulfilled that the two is now one. Jessica! Welcome to the family. Congratulations on making my brothers heart still as calm waters. Truly, you have been crafted for a time such as this. Bowie and Jess, my joy knows no bound; I say this without an iota of doubt. Now give me my nieces and nephews… (Gbam)

I knew Hilary from my days of working at Sears Auto shop on Preston and 635 in the mid summer of 2000. It was a friendship that started right from our first conversation, because we both share a lot of similarities regarding where I grew up (Warri) and where he went high toschool(FGC, Warri)  and where I also stayed too (Benin City). So it was from that day on we became friends. Over the years our friendship has been short of nothing one built on respect and progress. We both went to the same university in Dallas (UTD). Over the years past I have come to know Hilary a lot better, he is a very prudent guy, he is a man of integrity, hard working , very calculative in everything he does. A friend with Good heart , he is a friend you can depend on. He has inspired me in a lot ways. He is goal getter.  Today I am very happy to see you making another great leap from being a Bachelor. Me and my family are very happy for Hilary and Jessica as you guys take the next step in life. Jessica you are a God sent to Hillary becauseI have been waiting for this day to come. Like a younger brother, I see joy and satisfaction in him when ever he mentions your name. On behalf of myself and my wife OJ, we wish you and Jessica fruitful happy marriage life, the one that see no end to God blessing and favor. Congratulations on this journey of love... God bless.

Hilary my brother, basically I have known Hilary for almost my entire life since the early days in Benin city, Edo state Nigeria. My dad and Hilary's dad were co-workers and also best friends back in the days. My dad and Hilary's dad spent a lot of time together paving the way for the kids to have a better relationship. Eventually Hilary's dad left Nigeria to America and for a while myself and Hilary never saw each other due to academic choice of school and personal interest. A couple of years later I left Nigeria to America eventually staying with Hilary's dad who guided and paved the way for me to be the person I am today. Lord behold, Hilary came to America too and we were basically living together with his dad. Our relationship grew even stronger and most people thought we were blood brothers. A lot has happened over the years and am very happy to be part of your wedding. All I can say my brother is I wish you and Jessica the very best and may God guide and protect you and your entire family. I will always be there for you and your family. Congrats brother.

I was first introduced to Hilary in 2006, by his Dad Bowei. He was one arrogant son of a gun 😀 but he also made me remember how people who grow up in Benin are and I am one of them. We met again at the Soccer field and we hit it up and became good friends. Hilary also used to stop by my house after work because he loved to come eat some of that good food I cook... Lol! We partied together a lot and still do. Hilary is a good friend and a brother anyone could ask for. My wife thinks he is a very funny guy. I am incredibly honored to be sharing this day with him and his beautiful wife. And my heart is so full with love and excitement for their new adventure they are embarking on together.

I have been knowing Hilary for so many years. I met Hilary when I newly moved from West Texas to Dallas at a friend's house Tony Odeghe. Ever since then we clicked. Several weeks after he invited me to a church called the "Covenant". Hilary is fun to be around if you know him very well and understand him. He is a peculiar person. He has been a friend when I needed him likewise like a big brother. Hilary, I'm happy for you and glad able to be a part of your new journey. #Blessup!!

I met Hilary back in 2012 and he was a really wahala fellow until I discovered he was a virgo and fifa junkie just like myself and that made us connect better (lol). I am really happy he's getting married and I look forward to him spending more time with Jessica (Paulo make I follow my madam talk) than playing fifa. I wish them both a very blissful union.
